Louis Theroux to Live with MTS for a Month

Updated: Jan 31, 2020

Louis Theroux’s newest documentary on Musical Theatre will feature footage of the famous documentary maker’s time living with RHUL’s own Musical Theatre Society.

Theroux stated he has “always wanted to understand more about that mysterious, constantly pumped and vibrant sect’ of students. The documentary: Louis Theroux: Jazz-Hands and Show Bands, will air on BBC 2 in April, covering his month living in a controversially close-knit group attempting to put on a full-scale musical theatre production in an insanely small amount of time, whilst also maintaining their academic studies.

MTS head Lucy Winters said: “We’re so excited to have Louis get to know all about how things go down here at MTS! We’ve got such an amazing term planned, and we’re sure he’ll enjoy our Musical Theatre Song karaoke session in Crosslands as much as we do.

I think he’ll love it here. We even sent him a lovely MTS welcome pack with some fabulous goodies!”

Upon opening the package, Theroux said: “I’m very grateful to the society for my welcome pack, but why is there so much fucking glitter?

And what the fuck is a sitzprobe?"
